Thomas G. Cousins and Rebecca K. Yarbrough Join TSYS Board
Columbus, Ga., October 28, 1999 - Richard W. Ussery, Chairman of the Board and CEO of Total System Services, Inc.® (TSYS®) (NYSE: "TSS"), today announced that Thomas G. Cousins and Rebecca K. Yarbrough are joining the Board of Directors of Total System Services.
"Tom Cousins and Becky Yarbrough are welcome additions to the Total System Services Board," said Ussery. "Each has served in a wide variety of community leadership roles, and each has strong ties to our company. We are delighted to have them serve on our Board and look forward to their immediate contributions." Thomas G. Cousins is Chairman of the Board and CEO of Atlanta-based Cousins Properties Incorporated, one of the largest equity real estate investment trusts in the country. Cousins Properties developed TSYS' new corporate campus located on the Columbus riverfront and has developed such Atlanta landmarks as the CNN Center, the Omni Coliseum, Bank of America Plaza and 191 Peachtree Tower. Current projects of Cousins Properties include office buildings and shopping centers in Atlanta as well as Florida, South Carolina, Alabama, Washington, D.C., Virginia and California.
Mr. Cousins graduated from the University of Georgia in 1952 with a degree in finance and founded Cousins Properties in 1958. He serves on the boards of Shaw Industries, the Georgia Research Alliance and Emory University. He is past president of the High Museum of Art in Atlanta and has served as chairman of the University of Georgia Foundation.
Rebecca K. Yarbrough graduated from Huntingdon College in 1959 with a degree in business administration. She has held leadership positions with several community organizations for a number of years. She has served on the boards of Universal Bank, the Historic Columbus Foundation, the Downtown YMCA, the Columbus Museum and Brookstone School.
Mrs. Yarbrough has been involved in numerous civic activities. She is past chairman of the Salisbury Fair, and has been a member of the Muscogee County Medical Auxiliary, the Daughters of the American Revolution, the Junior League of Columbus and the Columbus Symphony Women's Association.
