Wayne Smith Promoted to Group Executive

Columbus, Ga., Nov. 21, 2002 - TSYS® announces the promotion of B. Wayne Smith to group executive of Operations. Smith, a five-year TSYS veteran, reports to CIO Kenneth L. Tye and provides strategic direction for domestic and international operations. His new responsibilities include technical support, network services, data center operations, and authorizations services as well as his prior responsibilities, which include TS2 environment management, application software management, methodology and project management processes, problem/change management, and business continuity/disaster recovery.

Smith joined TSYS in 1998 and has held positions of senior director, director, as well as programming project manager. Prior to joining TSYS, Smith was employed with AFLAC for 17 years in numerous management and technical positions.

A Columbus native, Smith is a graduate of Columbus State University with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Computer Information Management. He is a volunteer with the American Lung Association, attends Northside Baptist Church and coaches local youth baseball.
