TSYS Adopts Downtown Magnet Academy

Partners Emphasize Innovation and Technology to Achieve Success

Columbus, Ga., Oct. 11, 2004 - TSYS will announce the adoption of neighboring school Downtown Magnet Academy as its Partner in Education during an adoption ceremony this morning at 10:00 on the lawn of the TSYS Corporate Campus.

Located at 1400 First Avenue, Downtown Magnet Academy provides K-5 students with an innovative approach to learning through the Core Knowledge Curriculum. Downtown utilizes technology to facilitate teaching and learning. All students have supervised access to computers, scanners and the Internet. Teachers and students use classroom computers on a daily basis to enrich reading, writing, arithmetic and other basic skills through online research, e-mail communication and virtual field trips.
